Raphelle Andews Plus CompilationIf you are in the Bay Area this Monday, make sure you head over to Monday Soul located at New Parish.  This week’s performer is musician Raphelle Andrews.  As always, Monday Soul is hosted by Mr. Je, Jareem, and Leon (DNAS) of Streets is Talking Radio, with music from DJ D Sharp.    The opening acts for Monday Soul this week will be emcee J.Billion, Jules Jones and more.

Fred Astaire circa 1945, Gene Kelly circa 1952, & Sammy Davis Jr. circa 1959, these were the days of performing artists. The year is 2011 and those days… now… seem so far gone. Those were the golden days of entertainment. Where on any given night, you could hear great music while watching an even better show. These performing artists would sing, dance and make you laugh until you truly felt good about leaving the house and paying the general admission. The year is 2011 and those days… now… seem so far gone. Then one day… I seen something oddly familiar and to my nostalgic bliss, I was introduced to Raphelle Andrews.Fred Astaire circa 1945, Gene Kelly circa 1952, & Sammy Davis Jr. circa 1959, these were the days of performing artists. The year is 2011 and those days… now… seem so far gone. This week’s non-profit at Monday Soul is Youth Radio.  Youth Radio promotes young people’s intellectual, creative, and professional growth through education and access to media. Youth Radio’s media education, broadcast journalism, technical training and production activities provide unique opportunities in social, professional and leadership development for youth, ages 14-24. We see Youth Radio’s work as cultivating the natural resilience and strength of young people. By connecting youth with their communities through media literacy and professional development, they become active partners in civic engagement.

What’s different about this month’s Monday Soul is I am the featured business of the month on behalf of this lovable baby here (my site) and in honor of the occasion, I made a Monday Soul Compilation complete of some of my favorite artists that I put on the site.  You can download that here, and if you are at Monday Soul, I will be giving them away in CD format as well.
