I love Electric Wire Hustle, and the last time they were in the Bay Area, I went for my birthday and got sick. Like sick where I was sweating uncontrollably. -_- Finally, I will get the opportunity to see them again. They will be coming to Yoshi’s San Francisco March 22nd, in the Lounge area. The show is $15 advanced, and $20 at the door. Purchase tickets here.
Developing their own sound and twist on modern hip hop, psychedelic and soul Electric Wire Hustle’s unique sound challenges genre boundaries and preconceptions. The music of New Zealand’s EWH reaches forward while referencing key points of music’s past. Thick drums and percussion layered with synth lines, hints of the Fender Rhodes and nylon stringed guitars have your neck snapping while your ear cranes to the evocative vocals of Mara TK.
Also, if you’re going to be in Texas for SXSW, Electric Wire Hustle will be performing at a few different showcases, so make sure you check them out.
