One of the coolest things I have found about blogging is getting introduced to things you may not have ever heard of or seen. With millions of music based blogs circulating the blogosphere, majority of the content is the same — soul, hip-hop or indie. That’s not a diss, just reality of the situation.
With that being said, this morning while going through submissions on my site — which I definitely need to do more of, I got introduced to this video “Black Bodies,” from Toronto based Ian Kamau. As of late, Toronto has been killing — Drake, Rochelle Jordan and this could definitely be added to that pack.
“Black Bodies” finds it’s home on Kamau’s latest release One Day Soon, which is available for download via BandCamp. Read more about the project and the song here and watch the video below.
Currently, Ian Kamu is touring South Africa, my county of Ethiopia (my family), Kenya and Rwanda. Pretty cool! Tour Dates here if you happen to be in any of those locations.
