Me and this guy AbJo, once had a movement — that we didn’t establish further called the Phrenologists based on the iconic album from The Roots. We definitely, definitely need to get that back together — hopefully this stanza sparks it up again (sub-writing)
With that being said, by BFF Miss Special got the chance to catch up with the producer all the way from the other side of the world — talk about grinding. Special talks with Abjo about his latest album We Run The Night, collaborating with Bam Circa 86, Chuuwee, Trade Voorhees and working with them all in the future. He also talks about how Carlitta Durand is one of his favorite singers right now, and his features on her highly anticipating upcoming album, I’ll Be Gorgeous When I Die. Lastly, they speak about what upcoming projects he has in the works.
Dope interview. If you haven’t listened to Abjo’s music in the past — let me just tell you it’s great. I got exposed to him through his Art of Dreaming project based on the book by Carlos Castaneda. The way he produced tracks that went with the book really captivated me to read the book, and listen to the project. I also like how his production palette is so diverse as it seems as if he draws inspiration from multiple places. You can back track to some of my previous posts about his music here, here and here.
