Mission: Rawemag’s overall mission is to present underground art(s): music, culture and etc to the mainstream masses through in-depth reviews, interviews and etc.

Started in January 2009m Rawemag.org was founded by Erin Ashley (Bella) in response to what she felt was missing in the blogosphere.  Sure, there are several even thousands of music blogs–however, not many music blogs are written by journalist (with a degree) with a love of music.

Since it’s conception, Rawemag has gone to interview several artists: Rapper Big Pooh, Grammy-nominated Eric Roberson, Res, Apollo Brown, Murs, Bilal, Skeme, J*DaVeY, Hopie Spitshard, Moe Green, Black Hippie (Kendrick Lamar, AB-Soul, Schoolboy Q, and Jay Rock), Jhene and etc.  Rawe has also done several album reviews that have been posted on the official websites of different artists notably, The Foreign Exchange Authenticity album, and Median’s The Sender.

For advertising inquires, please email bella@rawemag.org, and provide detail for what kind of advertising you are looking for.

If you have a project/event or etc that you want reviewed on the site, please email bella@rawemag.org with your bio, project link, and picture of some sort.

Erin Ashley (bella) is a Bay Area resident and 2010 college graduate with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Print Journalism.  Erin started Rawemag to continue writing after graduating from school on a topic that she loves… music.   If you had to ask Erin that dreaded question of who her top five artists are, her tentative list would include Black Thought, Common, Ms. Hill (still a classic), Mos Def… and uh, not five people.  Erin is obsessed with Common and currently, takes all her dating tips from Ghostface Killah songs.

Erin is also a freelance music critic for The Examiner and other publications.  Make sure you check her Examiner Page here.
